In general, pressure piping refers to those pipelines bearing pressure from internal or external no matter what media they carry. In order to prevent condensation/solidification or viscosity increase and maintain temperature, indirect heating shall be conducted from the inside or outside of the pipe.
Electric heat tracing can be adopted maintain pipeline temperature. The media that pipelines carry can be gas, liquefied gas, steam. They can be inflammable, explosive, toxic or corrosive; and their maximum operating temperatures can be higher or equal to their boiling points.
When the ambient temperature is too low, the medium temperature may be lower than the solidification/condensation point. To prevent heat conduction between the medium and the outside, it is necessary to have appropriate heat tracing for the pipeline. In choosing heat preservation systems, the following aspects should be taken into account:
1. Is the site conditions characterized with inflammable/ explosive atmosphere?
2. Will the heat preservation system accelerate corrosion of pipelines? Inappropriate heat tracing may give rise to safety accidents.
Sanniu's specialized electric heat tracing system is an ideal choice and solution. By far, Sanniu has successfully designed and installed electric heat tracing systems for various pressure pipelines.
In choosing appropriate electric heat tracing cables, we must use the enhanced type (explosion-proof & corrosion-resistant) heat tracing cables. Subject to different media, there are electric heat tracing cables of several temperature groups to choose from. For gas media, the explosion-proof & corrosion-resistant self-regulating heat tracing cables can be used; for liquefied gases requiring relatively higher temperature maintenance and for long pipelines, constant wattage heat tracing cables (0-180ºC) may be a good choice; if the internal medium temperature is very high, e.g. steam, MI heating cable (0-600ºC) is good choice. All these cables are fire retardant and explosion-proof.
